My Accomplishments:
My first week at Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) became
great. I was
able to experience teaching the class I as assigned. For my first teaching, my
topic was
on Idioms and on the second day of teaching, my topic as Bibliography. Atleast I
had overcome my great nervousness before teaching, it was lessened somehow.
My Significant
Experiences:
August 26, 2014 (Tuesday) was
the day we
were
immersed at BCNHS. At first, before we went there, I was
so nervous that I can’t understand. But when we already arrived there and
met our own
Critic Teachers, I had a good feeling about my critic teacher; her name is Mrs.
Zobel Epler. I knew that I will learn so many things from her
since I noticed that she is a very kind and helpful person, also one of the
best teachers in that school. She was also the one who
told me that “teaching is great when you love teaching”.
My Insights:
I never thought that my first
practice teaching will be that great, but I hoped for it that much, so I really
thank God for giving me the strength in surpassing my nervousness and facing my
weaknesses.
Problems:
I had butterflies in my stomach
since August 24 knowing that our deployment was very near.
Solution:
I handled my emotional problem
of course by thinking positively, that whoever my critic teacher or students would
be, anything will be great. I told myself to do great with
a smile with
me all the time.
My Goals for
next
week:
My goals for next week
are of course to continue being a blessing to my students by doing my best to
be a good teacher to them. Another is to improve the comments given to me by my
critic teacher which are: to louden my voice and make it more modulated,
and practice the art of questioning.
