week 12 (October 27-November 1, 2014)

*Sailing Forth*
My Accomplishments

My accomplishments this week were more of requirements and personal things, just like being able to have our quarters cleaned because we have just been deployed at SLU-Laboratory High School. Also, while waiting for our orientation from the School Principal, most of us made use of the time to summarize the 30 lessons that we had executed at BCNHS and also to have it peer checked by our classmates. We also have compiled our works in our own portfolios and submitted it to our beloved Supervising Instructor last Thursday. Last Friday, I also went home at Buguias, Benguet to be my parents and relatives for our family gathering every 1st day of November, so it was an accomplishment for me to be home and be with my family.

My Significant Experiences
There were no much significant experiences for me during our first week of practice teaching at SLU-LHS since I haven’t tried teaching yet. But during my week end, I have a lot to tell since I was so happy that “I made it” to be with my family. Since the start of Academic Year, there was no time for me to go home and be with them, and I thought I will not be able to be with them this time because of just a short vacation. Going home for even just for a moment is significant because we always have family gathering every 1st day of November to be one in paying respect for our relatives who already passed away, praying for them and ourselves, and also staying together as one family.
Problems
Last Thursday, I visited the class that is assigned to me. As I entered the class, I was a bit shocked and already worried because the classroom was too big for me. I was really worried about my voice when I start teaching.
Solution
I will try to get well soon and be able to condition myself to have a good voice after vacation because I might have more difficulties in speaking louder when I get back next week and start teaching.
My Goals for Next Week
To be more firm as a teacher and be able to have a good catch during my first day of teaching at SLU-LHS.
